Tim Takahashi has been a Certified Athletic Therapist and Exercise Physiologist working in private practice in Lethbridge since 1998. He holds a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified Exercise Physiologist.
Tim has several areas of experience in the sporting world, working as a CCES Doping Control officer, LRPS Police Academy Training instructor, and an Alberta Sport Development Centre (ASDC) Athlete Enhancement Team Member. Since 2005, Tim has been instructing sessional Kinesiology and Exercises Science courses at the U of L and Lethbridge College. He loves working with both recreational and high performing athletes both locally and on the road. He worked as a Doping Control Officer at the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010 in Whistler and has been a member of Team Canada Medical staff at 2 Maccabiah games in Israel (2005, 2009, 2013) along with multiple Canadian National Judo championships and Canadian National track and field championships.
Tim himself is a 2nd degree black belt in Judo and is the current 2 – time Men’s Lightweight Masters Canadian National Champion and was the Lethbridge Sports Council Masters Athlete of the year for 2011. Tim also enjoys football and has been coaching high school and junior high football for the past 18 years. He serves as a sports injury and sports performance consultant to many local high performance, Olympic level and professional athletes.
Tim combines his 16 years of clinical experience with his academic accomplishments and knowledge of sports injury and sports performance to provide innovative sports medicine services to numerous athletes he works with at Rebound Health Centre at the Sports Medicine Centre in the U of L.
